Ivanovic keeps on rolling

Australian Open finalist Ana Ivanovic continued rolling at Indian Wells with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Vera Zvonareva in the quarterfinals. She needed only 66 minutes to dispense of the 12th seed, and used a 5-0 lead in the first set to set the tone. Ivanovic, who is the top seed, joins Maria Sharapova and Svetlana Kuznetsova in the semifinals. She awaits the winner of the match between Davenport and Jankovic (which will be played later tonight).

Since her finals appearance at the Aussie Open, Ivanovic has been a bit up and down, but this is a very good showing for her. She has yet to to win one of the bigger tournaments (which this would qualify as), but I would say she has a very good shot here. She may have to get by Sharapova in the finals, whom she is 2-3 against in her career, but she can’t look ahead yet.

The Davenport/Jankovic match should be a good one tonight…
