Sharapova continues domination
NBTA alum Maria Sharapova has continued to dominate Justine-Henin style, and is now 18-0 on the season. She just beat another former NBTA player, Daniela Hantuchova, in the quarters and will now face another Russian – Svetlana Kuznetsova – in the semis at Indian Wells. If you take a look at Sharapova’s stats so far this season (through 18 matches), she has only lost three sets! That is incredible.
There were a lot of people out there in 2007 that said Sharapova’s career might be over because of her shoulder problems that led to her serving issues, but as you can see that is certainly not the case. She appears to be back and better than ever, and I think it is only a matter of time until she recaptures the top spot in the world.
