Haas forced to withdraw

Another bad break for Tommy Haas. The NBTA alum has a sinus infection and will not be able to play his quarterfinal match against Roger Federer at Indian Wells. This is the second consecutive match that Federer has received a walkover against Haas. The last time they were scheduled to play was in the fourth round at Wimbledon last year, and Haas had to withdraw. Tommy had just come back from shoulder surgery, and was finally starting to find his groove before the sickness. Let’s hope he gets better in time for the Sony Ericsson next week.

For Federer, he will now face either David Nalbandian or Mardy Fish in the semifinals. I’m sure they can’t wait.
