Lisicki’s run comes to an end

The night before Sabine Lisicki had the biggest victory of he career. She couldn’t follow that up with a win over #10 Elena Dementieva on Monday. Lisicki had 13 double faults and 41 unforced errors in her fourth round match against the great Russian. Heading into the match, you would have thought that Dementieva would be the one who struggles with the serve, but she had only 4 double faults and won 89% of the points on her first serve.

Despite the loss, this is another great showing for Lisicki. At the age of 18, she is having a great maiden season on the WTA Tour. She has got to get the serve corrected, but we all believe she will. Congrats to Sabine on a fantastic tourney!

During the match, Nick chatted with Tennis Magazine’s Tom Perrotta. To see the transcript of it click here.
