Quick Hits
Here are a couple of quick thoughts and interesting stories…
- Andy Roddick is engaged to 20-year old model Brooklyn Decker. There goes the tennis master plan of having Roddick marry Sharapova.
- Lindsay Davenport tried to convince Venus Williams to play for the Fed Cup team when they travel to Moscow in April. Venus said no. Tough break for the American team, they will have to hope Lindsay plays her best tennis there.
- On the other hand, the Davis Cup team will have Roddick, Blake, and the Bryan brothers for their tie against France in April. That is good news, because the French team is loaded with talent.
- Last night we went to the Mario Ancic/Juan Monaco match, which didn’t end till about 11:30pm. Great match that Ancic won in three sets. If you haven’t been to a tennis match (or any sporting event for that matter) with Argentinean fans, you should go. They are fun and love to cheer for their man, too bad he didn’t win last night though. Ancic definitely didn’t play his best match, he seemed tentative throughout the match. His forehand, backhand, and serve all weren’t on. He only got 55% of his first serves in, but he won the match and that is all that counts. He gets Nikolay Davydenko later today. Good luck.
