Venus takes leave
For undisclosed reasons, Venus Williams has decided that she needs some time off to take care of some personal issues. “I’ve just been having some issues that I need to resolve, so I’m working on that at the moment and I’m hoping to be back playing as soon as possible,” Williams said Tuesday at the Bausch & Lomb Championships. “I’m not going to get any further into it, but of course I love the sport.”
Venus went on to say that she wanted to be back for the French Open, but she once again said she will not play for the Fed Cup team when they take on Russia later this month.
I don’t know what is going on in Venus’ personal life, but I hope whatever it is she gets back to the WTA Tour soon. She is a great player and someone that brings plenty of excitement to the tour.
