Anything you can do, I can do better…
That seems to be Rafael Nadal’s mantra of late, as he matched Roger Federer over the weekend as both players won grass court titles. Federer won the title in Halle, which was the 10th grass court title of his career (matching Pete Sampras’ record). It was also his 59th straight win on grass! Not to be outdone, Nadal became the first Spaniard since 1972 (Andres Gimeno at Eastbourne) to win a grass court title, beating Novak Djokovic in the finals at Queen’s Club.
Nadal now has a ridiclous 49-7 record on the year, and has won five titles. Federer has captured only two titles, but does have a stellar 39-8 record in 2008. Both players look very good heading into Wimbledon which begins next week. The set-up couldn’t be any better, with Federer having beat Nadal in the last two Wimbledon finals. This year who knows what will happen, as it appears Nadal has gotten better on just about every single surface.
Who do you think has the edge right now?
P.S. Check out this unbelievable shot by Nadal…

Nadal is playing great tennis right now. I’d love to see him pull off a win in Wimbledon. He’s definitely capable…depending on how ‘on’ Federer is.
I’de still give the edge to Federer. Besides winning Halle, with past results and his amazing grass game, he has all the confidence and all the skill

As much as I don’t want to say it, I would love to see Nadal pull off the Wimbledon victory. It would also be nice to see someone lesser known make one of the Semis.
OH YEA, and that SHOT.. IN-CRED-IBLE! Pure Athlete
