Wimbledon 2008 – Women’s Semifinals set at Wimbledon
Nick’s Picks will have complete coverage of Wimbledon 2008, and we are teaming with Tennis Week and The Independent Newspaper in London to provide in-depth analysis throughout the tournament! Also, be sure to listen for Nick on Radio Wimbledon each day at 4pm EST!
The quarterfinals are over, and we may have an all-Williams Grand Slam final for the first time since Wimbledon 2003. Venus, who was the first player to win, will face Elena Dementieva while little sister Serena will take on Chinese woman Jie Zheng. Serena looked fantastic in her 6-4, 6-0 throttling of Aggie Radwanska while Zheng continued to impress with a three set win over NBTA alum Nicole Vaidisova.
This is certainly not a semifinal anyone could have predicted. There was always a good chance that the Williams sisters would be there, but to have Zheng, and to a much lesser extent Dementieva, is unexpected.
We will have a complete breakdown of these two matches very soon. Who do you think will win?

i have to say i fancy venus to come through. her reach, movement and mental edge will make her win her 5th title here.
