Jankovic advanced to her first career Grand Slam final with a straight set victory over Elena Dementieva. Now, she is one match away from accomplishing a feat that she has been working towards since her days at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy. The only obstacle in her way now: Serena Williams!
Speaking of Ms. Williams, is there anyone playing better than her right now? She beat arguably the hottest player on tour, Dinara Safina, in two sets to reach the finals for the fourth time. If Serena wins it will be her third US Open title and the ninth overall.

Jankovic was #1 for one week and is very capable of winning a Grand Slam. She is extremely entertaining on and off the court, and will definitely not roll over in this match! She is going to have to play the match of her life because of the way that Serena is playing. Serena is not making any unforced errors, her serve is rolling, and she is getting to that extra ball signifying how well she is moving. I believe that Serena has a little too much firepower for Jankovic, and right now I give the edge to her.
