Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy student Filip Krajinovic went to Lubbock, Texas to qualify for the $50,000 Challenger. He won his two qualifying matches to get into the main draw and then won his first round match against Artem Sitak 6-2, 6-7(3), 6-2. Krajinovic, who is only 16 years old, came into the tournament ranked #1096 in the world while Sitam is #359.

He will now face American John Isner in the second round. Isner, ranked #142, won his opening round match 6-7(1), 6-4, 7-6(3). This will be a great test for Krajinovic and it will be interesting to see how he fares against a player who has been on the tour for a couple of years now.

Krajinovic is coming off of a run to the semifinals of the Junior US Open and is ranked #17 in the world in juniors.

Good luck to Filip!
