Nishikori into Quarters

It was another good day for 18-year old NBTA alum Kei Nishikori, as he made his way into the quarterfinals of the Stockholm Open in Sweden. Nishikori defeated former top 15 player and tennis veteran Dominik Hrbaty 6-1, 1-6, 7-5. Kei broke Hrbaty four times, but was broken three times himself. He will now face either Mario Ancic or Steve Darcis in the next round.

This is Kei’s second quarterfinal appearance at an ATP level event this year, with his first coming in Delray Beach where he went on to beat James Blake in the finals.

  1. Nishikori fans in Japan are so thrilled by his advance to QF. We hope his knee will be well enough to have a great match against Mario. Go Nishikori!
