Race for last three spots heating up

Five players have now qualified for the year-ending Masters Cup, and there are three spots remaining. The five who have qualified are Nadal, Federer, Djokovic, Murray, and Davydenko. Right now, the three men who occupy the last spots are Roddick, Ferrer, and Del Potro. Behind them there are three guys who are very close: Simon, Blake, and Wawrinka.

With only two weeks left to play, the race is very tight for those last spots and most of the guys are in action. Roddick is playing this week in Lyon and he won his first round match over Nicolas Mahut. Simon is also in Lyon and he has yet to play.

Del Potro, Blake, and Wawrinka are in Basel where Federer is the top seed. Wawrinka didn’t help his chances by falling in the first round to Benjamin Becker. Del Potro won his opener over George Bastl, and Blake has yet to take on his first round opponent, Nicolas Kiefer.
