Larcher de Brito wins first round match
Michelle Larcher de Brito won her first round match in the qualifying draw of the Australian Open earlier today. Larcher de Brito, who trains at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, defeated Margit Ruutel of Estonia 6-2, 6-3 in 61 minutes to advance to the second round. Larcher de Brito is currently ranked #128 in the world, and is only 15-years old. She will next face Alberta Brianti of Italy.
