Sixteen-year old Portuguese tennis sensation Michelle Larcher de Brito will play her first-round qualifying match at Indian Wells today. Larcher de Brito, who trains at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, comes into the tournament ranked #122 in the world and will take on Galina Voskoboeva of Kazakhstan. The 24-year old Voskoboeva is currently ranked #81 in the world, but has been as high as #64.
