Ricardas Berankis training on clay at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy

This week, there is a Challenger tournament in Sarasota (the Sarasota Open) and the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy is very well represented. Two of our students – Ricardas Berankis and Bernard Tomic – came through qualifying, two others – Ryan Harrison and Xavier Malisse – received main draw wild cards and Taylor Dent is playing in the tournament as well.

The action begins today Australian Tomic playing Michael Yani and with Lithuanian star Berankis taking on second-seeded American veteran Vince Spadea. Dent will take the court tomorrow against fellow NBTA student Ryan Harrison and finally Xavier Malisse will face American Lester Cook in the opening round.

Stay tuned to the blog all week for updates throughout the tournament.
