Larcher de Brito wins first qualifying match at French Open
Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy student Michelle Larcher de Brito, who is only 16 years old, won her first qualifying match at Roland Garros. Larcher de Brito is attempting to qualify for her first French Open and opened up with a strong win. She beat Kristina Kucova of Slovakia 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 and will now face Yuliana Fedak, ranked #174, in the second round. Larcher de Brito needs to win her next match against Fedak and then one more before she clinches a spot in the main draw.
