Vera Zvonareva training at IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy

WTA pro and world #9, Vera Zvonareva, is currently training at the IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy as she prepares for the 2010 season. Zvonareva got off to an extremely hot start last season, reaching the semis of the Australian Open, winning Pattaya City and winning Indian Wells. She then suffered an injury at Charleston in April and didn’t play again until June. She had successful surgery when the season ended to fix her injury and is looking strong once again. She is definitely primed for a big season.

Here are a couple of videos of her working out at the IMG Performance Institute:

  2. These videos are informative, even slightly comical, and Vera looks great, shining in the sunlight.

Vera was on a tremendous upward curve when her 2009 season was cruelly ruined by the ankle-injury; I truly believe she was on track to win the French Open.

Vera has lost a lot of ground, and hasn’t left as much time between the surgery and the start of the 2010 season as I would have liked, but I do believe she is capable of getting back to the kind of form she showed in late 2008/early 2009, and making 2010 her best year so far.

  3. Great and helpful videos. Hopefully Vera’s big preparation would also help recover her ankle injury.
